‘The Fundamentals of Leadership’
So you want to be a leader. Thank you very much for taking the time to visit my Blog and read the posted articles.
This Blog does not attempt to address conventional and current leadership practices and wisdom. It focuses instead upon how to stimulate thinking about maintaining the desire to be a leader and introduce or reintroduce you to a sustainable and successful career in leadership. The anticipated readership is private individuals as well as those entrusted with their company’s or community’s future. The expected outcome is a realization that leadership transitions smoothly between business, personal and community relationships…generation after generation. My desire is to provide you with a common mindset that establishes a firm foundation that will enable you to pursue, achieve and sustain a realistic leadership career. This is no easy choice and I congratulate you in taking this first step. For those of you that are already leaders I hope that you find it equally beneficial as a refresher and that it reinforces and adds to your values and talents.
The first step is to look inwardly at oneself rather than expect someone from outside to take notice. It is a personal undertaking of who you are as a person. Where do you want to go, what do you want to be, why do you want to do it and when do you want to do it. That is a lot of wants. The truth could not be more fundamental; if you do not want, then your foundations are not as secure as they should be. If you do want, and now I introduce belief into the equation, then you will be well on the way to sustaining a career in leadership.
